David Edward Shelton

 

 

David Edward Shelton, 69, of Dawson Springs died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010, at Regional Medical Center, Madisonville.

He was born Feb. 7, 1941, in Hopkins County. He was a 1959 graduate of Charleston High School and was retired after working 35 years for TVA. He also worked for the highway road department for numerous years and Island Creek Coal Co. for eight years. He was a 35-year member of Millwright Local 1080 and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence O. Shelton and Anna Lois Sisk Shelton.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hankins Shelton of Dawson Springs; two daughters, Cindy Shelton of Nashville, Tenn., and Sherry Davis of Hopkinsville; three sons, Eddie Shelton of Sacramento and Kris Shelton and William Davis of Dawson Springs; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Harold Holeman, L.D. Hankins, Eric Shelton, Kenneth Davis, Harvey Harris, Loman Scarbrough and Dillon Jewell Shelton.

Services will be officiated at 11 a.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Wayne Lamb at Beshear Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Dawson Springs. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
